Privacy Policy

What we collect

Fixablock is a product of Wrinkledot LLC. We collect only what the service needs:

• Your email address, to sign you in (we email a 6-digit code and a link) and to send the morning email you ask for.
• What you set up and record: your trades and ZIP codes, when you want the morning email, and the outcomes and notes you save on buildings (called, estimate sent, booked, not a job).
• Your IP address, used for a minute at a time to limit how often one network can ask for sign-in codes. We don't store it. If you join the waitlist we keep a one-way hash of it that changes every day, to stop repeat sign-ups.
• Waitlist details, if you join it: your email, and the area and trade you type in.
• Billing details, if you subscribe. Stripe collects and holds your card and billing address; we keep Stripe's customer and subscription ids, your plan and its status.

We have no analytics, advertising or tracking scripts, and we don't sell or rent personal information.

Signing in with Google

If you choose Continue with Google, we ask Google only for your email address and whether Google has verified it. We use it only to sign you in, never share or sell it, and never use it for advertising. Our use of information received from Google APIs follows the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.

How we use it

To run the service you signed up for: sign you in, show the buildings for your trades and ZIP codes, send the morning email, bill your plan, keep the service secure and answer you when you write to us. We send only service emails: sign-in codes, the morning email and billing notices.

Who processes it for us

• Cloudflare hosts the site and the database and sends sign-in emails.
• Stripe takes payments. Charges appear on your statement as WRINKLEDOT.
• Google, only if you sign in with Google.
• OpenFreeMap serves the map. Your browser loads map tiles from it directly, so it sees your IP address and the part of Chicago on screen, not your account.
• The morning email is sent by [email delivery service].

How long we keep it

• Your account, settings, outcomes and notes: while your account exists.
• Sign-in sessions: until they expire (30 days) or you sign out. Sign-in codes and links: deleted a day after they expire.
• Waitlist entries: until we invite you or you ask us to remove yours.
• Our payment processor, Stripe, keeps records of your payments (name, email, billing address, card brand and last 4 digits, invoices and tax) as its legal, fraud-prevention and tax obligations require (stripe.com/privacy). We keep invoices and tax records at least 3 years.

Deleting your account

Write to privacy@wrinkledot.com from the email you sign in with and we'll delete your account, coverage, outcomes and notes, and cancel any subscription, within 30 days. Billing records are kept as the section above says. Cancelling a plan alone doesn't delete your account.

Property owner data

Fixablock shows buildings the City of Chicago has cited, from the City's building violation and permit records. For signed-in customers it adds the name and mailing address on the property tax bill, from the Cook County Assessor, so a contractor can reach an owner who doesn't live at the building. We don't add phone numbers, emails or anything from people-search services. Owner details never appear on our public pages.

Fixablock is not a consumer reporting agency, and these records may not be used for decisions about credit, insurance, employment or housing (see our Terms).

Cookies and storage on your device

We use three cookies, all needed for the service, none for tracking:

• lg_session keeps you signed in for up to 30 days. We store only a hash of it.
• lg_oauth lives for 10 minutes while a Google sign-in is in progress.
• pl_pilot remembers the trade you picked on the pilot page for an hour while you sign in.

Your route, draft quotes and a few display choices are saved in your browser's own storage and never sent to us. We don't track you across other sites, so a browser's Do Not Track signal changes nothing: there is no tracking to turn off.

Your choices and rights

You can change your trades, ZIP codes and email settings at any time in Settings, and turn the morning email off. To ask for a copy of your data, or anything else about it, write to privacy@wrinkledot.com. We answer within 30 days.

Children

Fixablock is for business use by adults. It isn't meant for anyone under 18, and we don't knowingly collect their information.

Changes to this policy

When we change this policy we post the new version here with a new effective date. For a material change we also email account holders at least 14 days before it takes effect.
